Out and about: Exploring walks and places in Scotland

We use the winter and spring for exploring new places and checking walks. We have been visiting some islands of the Inner Hebrides and one of the hotels we will use for our new luxury walking tour to Morar & the Isle of Skye in 2016.

Below some photos of our trips:

  • Beasdale near Arisaig - 18th March

    Arisaig, Morar

We took the train along the West Highland Line to Beasdale near Airsaig and stayed a night in Arisaig House. This will be part of our new luxury walking tour to Morar and the Isle of Skye, which we will introduce in 2016.

  • Strathlachlan, Cowal - 26th April

    Cowal peninsula, Argyll

We stayed close to home and walked near Strachlachlan, Loch Fyne. This walk is not far from habitation, but it always makes you feel that you are in the middle of nowhere.

  • Isle of Iona - 7th April

    The Nunnery, isle of Iona

We will stay with some private groups on the Isle of Iona the coming years and this was a good reason to re-visit the island.

  • Puffins on the Isle of Lunga - 3rd June

    Puffins on Lunga

When visiting Mull with some friends we took a boat trip to Staffa and Lunga, one of the Treshnish Islands. Staffa is always great to visit, but Lunga is a hotspot for puffins. We saw hundreds of them!
