20 years About Argyll Walking Holidays and new logo

About Argyll Walking Holidays

When John Fisher started About Argyll Walking Holidays in 1995 he designed the logo with an eagle and “About Argyll” in a font with a Gaelic feel; and this logo served us well while we developed the business. Our first priority was, and is, to establish About Argyll as a guided walking holiday tour operator that offers high quality hiking tours and walking holidays all over Scotland; most of them in Argyll, the islands of the Inner Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland.

About Argyll introduced the first walking tour in 2004; a two-base holiday offering a mixture of easier walks and visits to places of interest. These tours proved to be extremely popular, and in 2012 we launched our first luxury hiking tour to Perthshire, Argyll and the Isles. To meet the growing demand for our walking tours we have added a new luxury tour for 2016, which will give walkers the opportunity to explore Morar and the Isle of Skye.

Tailor-made private guided hiking tours

Tailor-made private guided hiking tours are now a major part of our offerings and, as with our scheduled holidays, your guide will take you to quiet, remote corners that can only be reached on foot, enabling you to enjoy the solitude of Scotland's secret places. This can be for yourself, a party of friends, or even a larger group on an educational hiking tour. As with our scheduled holidays all aspects of the holiday are planned in detail in advance, so your guide can concentrate on the daily programme knowing that everything else is already taken care of.

After 20 years, we felt it was time for a new logo that more clearly illustrates what it is we do, and which also reflects the quality of our walking holidays and hiking tours. And what better time to unveil it than on our 20th anniversary?

So, it is goodbye to our eagle; you have served us well over the past 20 years - and welcome the footprint.
