Bay at the back of the Atlantic, Isle of Iona
We have launched our 2020 programme of guided walking holidays in the highlands and islands of Scotland, and if you book before 1st October 2019 you will receive a 5% discount. There is also an additional 5% discount if you have walked with us before.
The holiday programme includes hiking trips all over the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, from Argyll in the south Highlands, many islands of the Inner Hebrides and all the way to the north Highlands and the Orkney and Shetland Islands. Our walks are chosen not only for their breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife, but also for historical, archaeological and geological interest. We take you off the beaten track and help you to explore Scotland's hidden corners, using our local knowledge to guide you to places often overlooked by most independent visitors.

Suilven, Assynt, north-west Highlands
Yes, we'll take you further north on this 2-base walking tour with three nights in Torridon and four nights in Assynt. These are among the remotests parts of mainland Scotland offering spectacular scenery and great walking. Torridon offers spectacular mountain and coastal scenery while in Assynt the steep mountains rise from vast, undulating moorland. According to Norse legend, this was where the gods practised mountain building and they did it on a grand scale.
We'll walk on the Applecross peninsula and in the Torridon mountains before we travel north to Assynt which is in the North West Highlands UNESCO Global Geopark where we will learn more about the unique geology during the walks.
We asked our customers to join us in September this year so we could test the holiday and we were overwelmed by how many were keen to be our guinee pigs! The tour was immediately waitlisted.
The North-west Highlands walking tour is scheduled two times in 2020, but don't wait too long with booking, because we expect the tours to fill up quickly. Click here for details and the day-by-day programme.
The Shetland Islands continue to be one of our most popular destinations and our walking tour to Shetland is always booked up quickly. For 2020 we will re-introduce a second holiday, Hiking Shetland Islands. The focus of this holiday is on hiking of up to 10 miles/16km per day and most of it off path and track on rough ground. The walks will take you to Fitful Head, Nesting, the remote tidal island of Uyea in Northmavine with its sandy beach and turquoise waters, Yell, Eshaness and the red granite island of Muckle Roe. All walks are full of interest. The holiday is scheduled one time in 2020, from 29th May to 5th June. Click here for details and the day-by-day programme.
You could even do this holiday back-to-back with the Shetland walking tour 22nd-29th May. If you do so, you will stay on Shetland and have the Friday to explore Lerwick on your own before the new group arrives on Saturday. The price for this combined holiday is £2470 per person, single room supplement £180 and single cabin on the ferry is £120 extra.
