I did the new tour NORTH-WEST HIGHLANDS : This was my 7th guided tour with About Argyll and probably the best. I enjoyed every tour, but this one was so nice, so much variety. Just one day of rain. Our guide changed the two first walks because of the wet ground and that was a good decision. We had a fantastic group and the evening meal with Scottish music in the Torridon House is something I will never forget. The best Scottisch expierience ever !!! I'm thinking about doing this trip a second time in a year or 2 and I would choose again for the Month of September.

Sometimes, words fail when the experience goes beyond expectations and imagination. Such is the case as I, who just got back at 1:00 am today, still feel the Highland wind in my hair, the rain on my soul, and the sunshine on my face. I joined an Argyll walk eleven years ago, and I am never waiting that long to come back with this amazing group again. I remain filled with gratitude and joy, which will last until I return next year. Thank you Malcolm, Karen, and Frieda for your kindness, your expertise, your friendship, your everything.

I simply can’t say enough about my experience. I knew it would be so much more than walking. I laughed and cried, leaving Scotland with a heart fuller than ever imagined. Magical experience. With immense gratitude to Malcolm, Karen, Skipper Duncan, guest house owners in Oban & Kames- Cameron & Jimmy, and to Frieda who runs a tight ship! Love & miss you all. Know you always have a place to stay if ever visiting the New River Gorge, Fayetteville West Virginia!

I experienced a again ( 5th time) a great holiday provided by About Argyll with good walks and fantastic views, The whole tour was well organized. Our guide Vicky used het vast experience in an agreeable way and was very fun to be with as well. We were very lucke to have 4 whole walking days without rain. This holiday certainly makes me want to come back to Scotland. I can really recommed any tour offered by About Argyle.

Had a fantastic holiday in Orkney led by our wonderful guide Stewart who was so informative and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The b & b was lovely in a beautiful spot by the coast and the landlady was friendly and accommodating. The choices for breakfast were excellent. Each day was full of varied and interesting walks or visits. We definitely learned a lot and the weather was good too. We would recommend this holiday without reservation

Last year I had an extraordinary private walking tour in Shetland with About Argyll and I have just come back from another walking tour in Orkney – there were 8 of us: it was absolutely perfect, as ever!
The tour was accurately planned and they updated me on every aspect of the holiday. It included a significant number of archeological sites and spectacular views of cliffs with bird colonies and remarkable flora (I could admire primula scotica). What impressed me most was the 5000 year old Neolithic village of Skara Brae in the West Mainland as well as the massive structure of Maeshowe Chambered Cairn. Being Italian, the visit of the Italian Chapel, built by Italian prisoners of war during the WWII, well-known as a symbol of hope and peace, was a really emotional experience. Moreover, the Old Man of Hoy, a stunning rock stack towering above the sea worked its magic on me.
Besides, the B&B Bellavista Guest House in Kirkwall was amazing: gorgeous cooked breakfast with several options and the host was really lovely, treating me to plenty of soya milk for my evening tea and lactose-free butter (I am a lactose intolerant person). I met again the same guide, Nigel, who is always second to none, showing first-class knowledge and competence, great passion and enthusiasm.
All in all, I would recommend About Argyll for their impeccable walking tours and I would definitely have other tours with them; I thank all of them so much as my dream of visiting Shetland and Orkney has come true.

What a fabulous experience! The Orkney Islands are such a treat and walking through them with a guide who knows what is what without having to worry about how to get there was a big positive. We saw plenty of wildflowers and birds, but unfortunately no otters! The accommodation was very comfortable and the other people on the trip a pleasure to meet and spend time with. It was nice to be out in the wilderness and learn about the fascinating and long history of these Islands.

I have just returned from the Shetland Islands and what an amazing trip Argyll has organized for us! I knew when I set foot on Shetland a couple years ago that I want to return to explore more and Argyll has exceeded my expectations. We explored/walked on different sections of the islands and saw dramatic views (sea cliffs, stacks, caves and arches). We also witnessed the abundance of wildlife, seals and many species of birds. Shetland is definitely for the nature and bird lover alike. It can feel isolated but yet the remoteness of Shetland is its most attractive quality of all.

Great holiday with well chosen walks. Malcolm is a very capable and informative guide. The group was a good mix of people and an ideal size. Accommodation was excellent and i'm already looking to book with aboutargyll for next year.
