We scheduled this trip for our 45th wedding anniversary and it was a perfect way to celebrate. Orkney has such a sense of millennia of history in its geology and human occupation. The trip was a wonder-full exploration of these aspects of the land, expertly guided and without rigidity...John was open to suggestions for side ventures if time and the ferries permitted. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Go to the Orkney Islands for a perfect mixture of history and walking. I had an absolute great holiday, full of birds, beautiful views, great food, ancient monuments and a very friendly guide who knows a lot about everything!

I was a bit nervous when I signed up for my second walking tour with About Argyll because I did not think it was possible for the second to equal the excellence of the first. In reality, though, the second was even better. The scenery incredibly beautiful, and every day was truly glorious. The tour was well organized, and our guide, Alastair, was skillful, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs and abilities. Accommodations at Lyrabus Croft were comfortable, and the food was ample and delicious. I am very, very glad I returned. Thank you for another perfect holiday!

Scotland has as many faces as it has whisky's, so there is a lot more to explore. This trip was wonderful, with many different landscapes and things to visit. And... in total I did already 50 walking days in Scotland with only 4 days (a bit of) rain. I'm now already looking forward to my next visit.

Even my sixth walking holiday with About Argyll was one with many 'whaaws' and 'Oh's' . The organisation and guiding are perfect and Scotland is a great land to discover, so I keep coming back for more !!!

About Argyll has been the best possible introduction to Scotland for me. A very well organized trip in all respects. Lesley has been an extraordinary guide. She has made a great choice of walks, excellent choice of accommodation, and has given very enlightening answers to the most unexpected questions about nature, history, everyday life and all sorts of topics. She is enthusiastic, kind and caring and has brought good feelings in the group from the start. Fantastic landscape and friendly people everywhere. Most enjoyable. I look forward to having another holiday with About Argyll.

I have had one of my best holidays ever: it was very well organised with much attention to detail. The walks are very varied: sea and hills, history and landscape, and nice little boattrips in ferry's in between.

Do you want nature's best? Travel with About Argyll and you will see the beauty of Scotland!
Our trip to the Orkney's was super: wonderful walks, great archeological sites and an excellent guide who knows all about Scottish history and is very considerate also. We also stayed in a fine B&B, with caring hosts! After a nice long walk it is so good to come 'home' to a comfortable guesthouse.
I am looking forward to my next trip with About Argyll!

As holidays go, this was among the very best. Nigel was an excellent guide. My fellow travelers were delightful companions. The accommodations at Thornloe and Lyrabus Moor Croft Guesthouse were comfortable; the hosts were charming; and the meals were outstanding. The Highlands and Islands tour was magnificent -- every day there was something amazingly beautiful to see. Scotland truly is a gorgeous county, and I am glad I experienced it through this particular walking tour.

Great organization made this fascinating trip an easy experience. Our guide Nigel, provided excellent explanations to all questions related to history, flora, fauna, and locations. All accommodations were comfortable with friendly hosts in clean, delightful settings. The food was always plentiful and delicious. Our trekking was well paced covering a variety of settings featuring historic and natural areas of interest, and the small group (8 with guide) encourages good conversation. I absolutely recommend About Argyll Walking Holidays!
