This was such a well planned and well thought of trip! Our guide, Richard, was excellent and not only did I enjoy the breathtaking scenery, but also learned a lot from him about the native birds, botany, geology and history. What a pleasure! The accommodations and meals were also outstanding! I hope to be a return customer!

Just returned from an excellent week walking on Shetland. The guide Jon was excellent his knowledge of Shetland being an "islander" was excellent, he even showed us a couple of long houses he had assisted in the "dig". The walks were very enjoyable with fantastic scenery, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful sandy beeches. The Accommodation was really good, with a freshly cooked breakfast and varied packed lunch. The evenings we went to a range of restaurants where the food was first rate. A truly great holiday and overview of the Shetland Islands

Amazing Orkney Islands. I loved the immense meadows, the breathtaking cliffs, the staggering variety of birds, the awesome Neolithic sites, the suspiciously nice weather (I wonder what kind of deal About Argyll has got with the BBC Weather Forecast staff). I’m truly thankful to John, a wise, knowledgeable and excellent guide. Ineke, Nancy and Jeff were very nice company and I enjoyed their enlightening conversation. This was my second walking holiday with About Argyll and I was certain I could trust their conscientious planning and their careful attention to detail. Excellent.

I just finished the Orkney/Shetland Walking tour. Thank you for making a dream come true. The trip provided everything you described in your trip info. The guides Nigel and Vicki provided a wealth of knowledge about each islands history, bird life, unique flowers, Scottish music and where to get good oat cakes. Being a remote island the tour used trains, planes, mini vans and finally an overnight ferry. Despite current rail strikes and closures and weather I managed to get to all the key meeting points on time. The accommodations breakfast and packed lunches were excellent. The quality and choice of local restaurants was amazing, great choices and well priced. If you enjoy remote travel, an active itinerary, fabulous view up close and great places for a relaxing dinner after walking this is a trip for you.

I have so enjoyed my visit to Shetland. The time passed in wonder of the scenery and the ability to have the mental space to appreciate the amazing geology, scenery, flora and wildlife. I had wanted to visit the Shetlands as a UK outpost and nothing was disappointing other than it wasn't long enough.
the organisation and care given was careful and generous. The accommodation and meals including the packed lunches with our own labelled water bottles and lunch bags were of really high quality with charming B & B owners and staff.
Malcolm was great as a leader and took care to accommodate individual needs. He created fun and we all appreciated his leadership. I learned a lot and was inspired to bring back maps and books on the islands. A wonderful trip. Thank you.

I"ve just got back from the Shetland walking tour and itt was absolutely stunning. What great islands. So much to see and do. All the views where absolutely stunning. And we even had great weather. Lots of sun and hardly no rain. The group members and guide were great too. We had lots of fun and laughter and really looked after eachother. Lerwick is a nice place to stay. Some good restaurants too and really nice shops. There was some filming going on for the Shetland tv series, bus unfortunately they didn't let us near. I really recommend this tour and About Argyll. Defenitely will come back to them for more walking in Scotland.

Fantastic holiday on the Shetland Islands with a great bunch of people, we laughed a lot and saw a lot of the islands. It was great to see so much of the area with walks all over the islands. Shetland is on my list to return to in future years, I loved the remoteness and the friendly nature of the company. Thank you everyone and hopefully see you soon

A wonderful week on the Orkneys with guide Nigel and seven other like minded souls. We were blessed by the weather and enjoyed some amazing coastal and inland walks, too many highlights to mention. But if walking, bird spotting, incredible Neolithic monuments, eating, drinking and good company are your thing, you will have a great time! A wonderful guest house and a great selection of evening meals out was the icing on the cake. I'll be back !!

8 really sweet days walking Torridon, Isle of Skye, Raasay and Glencoe.
Our guide, Alastair was awesome. Picked middle of October and we had barely a spittle of rain!
Frieda and her team had everything perfectly organized and we were able to make adjustments as we traveled.
Great value as compared to all the other companies for a private tour for two couples.
Scotland is so underrated as a place to visit.....
